About the Role
Majestic Developers is seeking a licensed Geotechnical Engineer (PE) to lead subsurface investigations, develop geotechnical reports, and provide foundation and earthwork recommendations across multiple active developments.
This role brings geotechnical expertise in-house, allowing for faster decision-making, better alignment with construction, and greater control over cost, risk, and constructability.
The position will operate under the regulations of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and is responsible for signing and sealing geotechnical reports.

Key Responsibilities
Geotechnical Investigations
Plan and oversee subsurface exploration programs:
Soil borings
Lab testing
Coordinate with drilling and testing subcontractors

Engineering & Reporting
Analyze subsurface conditions and prepare geotechnical reports including:
Foundation recommendations (spread footings, drilled piers, PT slabs)
Allowable bearing pressures
Pavement design
Site preparation and over-excavation requirements
Sign and seal all geotechnical reports and engineering recommendations

Design Coordination
Work directly with structural and civil engineers to:
Align foundation systems with soil conditions
Integrate grading and drainage strategies
Provide clear, buildable guidance to avoid overdesign and reduce cost

Construction Support
Support field operations including:
Proof rolling
Compaction verification
Subgrade evaluation
Stabilization (lime, cement, or other methods)
Respond to unforeseen conditions:
Expansive soils
Groundwater
Bearing failures

Standardization & Efficiency
Develop internal standards for:
Typical foundation systems
Earthwork scopes
Pad-ready site preparation
Streamline geotechnical processes across multiple developments

Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas (required)
5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
Strong understanding of:
Expansive clay behavior (critical in Texas)
Foundation systems and performance
Earthwork and site preparation
